The Government aims for all schools to meet five core areas:

ChildcareChildcare

For Primary age children from 8am to 6pm, five days a week, 48 weeks a year, in line with the community’s need. For older children and young people a ‘safe place to be’ according to their needs.

Community AccessCommunity Access

Where a school has facilities that are suitable for use by the wider community, for example sports fields, ICT equipment and arts facilities. The school should endeavour to make these available to meet the needs of the wider community.

A Varied Menu of ActivitiesA Varied Menu of Activities

Providing activities that children and young people want to take part in and experience. These may include homework clubs, dance, drama, arts and crafts, sports clubs and others like music tuition or modern foreign languages…

Parenting SupportParenting Support

Information sessions for Dads and Mums when your child first starts at Primary school and again at transition to Secondary school. Access to national and local sources of information, advice and support. Signposting to parenting groups so you can talk to the school and each other. Opportunities are available for families to learn and grow together.

Swift and Easy Access to Specialist Support ServicesSwift and Easy Access to Specialist Support Services

Access to a range of health and social care services that children, young people and adults need to access at different times in their lives which support both their general wellbeing and their ability to learn is available.

To lead the way and in order to plan our progress as a family group we hold regular meetings of our Stakeholders Forum. This group is made up of Head Teachers, Governors, Parents and representatives from various statutory, community and voluntary organisations.
